The Movie: Netflix called About Last Night... the "definitive brat-pack movie" and I guess I'd have to say that's pretty accurate in that it's another typical 80's movie that's all style and no substance and fully of shallow, whiny people. It's even got the stereotypical 1980's love montage with scenes of lovey-dovey sweetness mixed in with sex set to pop music that is in the span of two minutes supposed to show us how deep and engaging the relationship is. Unfortunately, this film is full of so much sarcasm and fakeness in the delivery of lines that I actually started having a hard time telling when the characters were being serious and when they were being sarcastic.

In case you're wondering about the plot, this largely terrible film is centered around Demi Moore and Rob Lowe's characters who set out to have a nice, shallow, no-strings one night stand, but end up falling for each other, much to the chagrin of their less-attractive looking friends (played by Elizabeth Perkins and Jim Belushi) who definitely do not approve of the relationship and feel abandoned, doing everything they can to sabotage the relationship from both of their ends. Eventually the movie ends with everyone being too selfish to really care about how anyone else feels. Perhaps this films only saving grace is some bare-breasted action from Demi Moore. Hooray 80's!

The DVD: The quality of this DVD release is about on par with other low-effort DVD releases of the vintage (meaning 1998, when the format was fairly new, not 1986 when the film was made), with a mediocre video transfer exhibiting low resolution and blacks that aren't that black with whites that just aren't that white. The audio is functional but lacking in dynamic range, and special features consist of a trailer for the film, along with trailers for The Juror and A Few Good Men, for the hardcore Demi Moore fans.
