The Movie:
This is the most ridiculous movie I've seen in a long, long time. As Cami said to me, it's hard to imagine that the guys who made this movie did it while sincerely believing they were making a good movie. They must have just gotten together and decided to make a cheesy movie with lots of explosions and stuff.
Six guys decide to rob the Riviera casino during an Elvis impersonator convention. One of them even thinks they are an illegitimate son of The King himself. Then there are a series of double crosses, a lot of guns and shooting, with gratuitous explosions. The electronic beats of the soundtrack just didn't seem to match the look and feel of the rest of the movie, and the sudden appearance of Ice-T hanging upside down from the ceiling, spinning around while shooting two machine guns in opposite directions was truly a sight to behold. This movie really, really did not make any sense.
It's so ridiculously bad, that it's entertaining. But it's still ridiculously bad. There was a shot of Courtney Cox's butt too, but I suspect that it was a body double anyway. I had a feeling this movie would be pretty bad though. I didn't even want to spend the money to rent it, which is why I just borrowed it from Jeff. So yeah. Watch it for the ridiculousness of it all, just don't go looking for any real plot, or even, any real action sequences. Just a lot of bullets and explosions.
The DVD:
The anamorphic transfer was actually quite good, with nice, crisp images, and bold color, although there were a few hints of compression artifacts here and there, overall the video was pretty darn good looking. The sound was also clean, with some nice surround effects, but the explosions and gunfire got pretty repetitive after a while, and the soundtrack was missing a certain life to it. The only extras you'll find here are a theatrical trailer (with a nice 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer) and cast/crew bios, and that's it.
