The Movie: This is the story of a young, struggling playwright (John Cusack) whose first play finally gets produced -- but with the funding of a mob boss who insists that his rather talent-less girlfriend play a major role in the show. Hilarity ensues, especially after Cusack discovers that the mob hitman who has been assigned to be the girlfriend's bodyguard has an uncanny talent for playwriting.

This was a cute and funny movie that I enjoyed watching, but I wasn't rolling around on the ground laughing or anything. If you like John Cusack you'll probably like this movie though. Rob Reiner also made an appearance as a minor character.

The DVD: From a technical standpoint, this disc was pretty sad. The video was dim, grainy, and seemed to have a yellowish tint to it. The audio was also quite unspectacular. To top it all off, there are no special features. This is about as minimal as a DVD creation effort can be.
