The Movie: I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I wasn't interested in it before because when it was in the theaters, the previews made it look like it would be just another cheesy high school movie. What I found instead was a smart, witty and biting comedy. Rather than coming from a "wow, wasn't high school a great party" point of view, it comes from a more cynical "man what a small world high school was" point of view.

What should have been just a normal student council election gets wrapped up in obsessive behavior, bizzare love triangles, sibling rivalry, and all manner of complications in all types of relationships.

The ending though funny, was one of those endings where it seems like the movie is about to end, but it keeps going... and then you think it's gonna end again, but it keeps going again...

But again, I was pleasantly surprised as this movie was a lot more than I expected it to be, and I think this is a movie that's worth seeing.

The DVD: The anamorphic transfer was just average, with some spots, dust and scratches, but it wasn't bad enough to take away from the movie. The audio was functional but nothing special. The only extra on this bare-bones disc is director's commentary.
